Play
Script Publishers
Samuel French
This is the place that "seeks out the world's best plays and makes them available to the widest range of producing groups. Sources of our plays range from Broadway and England's West End to publication of unsolicited scripts submitted by unpublished authors."
Dramatists
Play Service
This is the other guy, "offering an extensive list of titles,
including a preponderance of the most significant American plays
of the past half century."
Pioneer
Drama Service
"One of the largest full-service play publishers in North
America.... Over 500 properties, which include full length plays,
musicals, children's theatre, melodrama, Christmas plays, one
act plays and texts and aids."
Baker's
Plays
A good selection of plays, both famous and not so. Also has quite
a good selection of religious plays.
Script and Theatrical Resources
DramaGeeks.com
"A Resource Center for the Dramatically Challenged."
Downloadable play scripts by Shakespeare, Wilde, and others.
London
Theatre Guide Online
Their goal since 1995 is "to provide a reliable source of
information pertaining to London Theatre on the Internet."
What's on where, with seating guides and show times. Planning
a trip, or just want to know what you're missing?
Shakespeare
A wonderful sight, well presented, where one can find a user friendly offering of all the Bard's plays. This is the one to go to when you're just too lazy to walk to the bookshelf. (You remember bookshelves?)
Gilbert
and Sullivan
This is the place to go: The Gilbert & Sullivan
Archive. If you are a fan, you will find it all here. E-texts
of all fourteen operas, midi files, pictures, and information
and links on all sorts of G&S goodies. Look no more, Savoys,
you've found your home.
The
Oscar Wilde Collection
An ever-evolving collection of works by Saint Oscar.
Movie and Television Scripts
Drew's Script-o-Rama
The self-proclaimed (and probably true) "most comprehensive index of movie and television scripts available on the Internet!" Enjoy it while you can, the © Police are just around the corner.
Footlight Records
This New York based shop is the first place to go in the U.S.A. for domestic and international cast recordings of well-known shows, as well as some of the more obscure. They also carry movie soundtracks and some memorabilia. Great selection.
Dress
Circle Online
"The Greatest Showbiz Shop in Cyberspace." This is
the virtual version of a charming little store located in London's
West End. Though the selection is somewhat the same as Footlight
Records, the service is fantastic (both online and in person),
which can be worth the extra shipping charges. There are treasures
to be found here, and if you're ever in London, do drop by and
say hello.
There is a vast amount of theatre-related web pages and link pages floating around out there in TheatricalCyberspace. These are some I have found that I feel are worth knowing about. If you know of any that you think should be listed here, please e-mail the DramaLama.
